tapja

tapja for bars & cocktail bars

Saturday is full. Tuesday decides the month.

At the weekend everyone comes, midweek almost nobody. A card in the wallet gives regulars a reason to drop in on a Tuesday too, with no app for your guests.

Sound familiar?

From frustration to fix.

Midweek the bar stays half empty.

An offer with its own run time shifts visits into it.

You know your regulars by face, not by name.

Everyone who takes the card appears in your overview by name.

Paper cards and a wet bar do not mix.

The card sits in the wallet and stays readable.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Design the card

Pick a card type, set your logo and colors, define the reward rule, for example "A point per visit, a cocktail on the house at 10 points.". The live preview shows instantly how the card looks in the wallet.

  2. Onboard customers

The customer scans the QR code at the counter and adds the card to their wallet with one tap. Done, no app for your guests.

  3. Collect & reward

One tap is all it takes: the balance updates automatically on the card, and when a reward is reached a wallet notification lands on the phone.

Example program

What your bars & cocktail bars program could look like.

A point per visit, a cocktail on the house at 10 points.

A points card for the wallet that counts visits. Plus a weekday offer and a birthday voucher.

A day with tapja

How it feels in everyday life.

Two guests stay for two cocktails on a Friday. Settling up, they scan the QR code on the table stand and the card lands in the wallet, with no app of their own. Your bartender taps the point in the staff app. In February Tuesdays are dead, so you send "Tuesday: second drink half price" to everyone away for more than three weeks. The two come in, on a night when two stools would otherwise have stayed empty. At ten points a cocktail is on the house.

When does a stamp card start to pay off?

Common questions about tapja for bars & cocktail bars.

Question not listed?
Write to us, a person will answer.

Does it work in the rush at the bar?
Yes. Your team taps the point in the staff app and holds the guests phone next to it, which takes under two seconds. The phone is in hand at settling up anyway.
Points per visit or per drink?
Per visit is simplest and works on every plan. If a beer and a bottle of wine are far apart, you can award by amount; that belongs to the larger plan (from Home Base).
Are we allowed to run loyalty programmes with alcohol?
The card rewards your existing, adult guests at the bar. How you shape your offers (and whether you would rather put the reward on food or soft drinks) is your decision; tapja sets no content rules there.
How do I stop someone awarding themselves points?
Only someone signed in to the staff app can award points, and every person has their own account with a PIN. Every entry appears in the activity log with time and name.
Do I need a POS system for this?
No. tapja runs independently of your till on a phone or tablet you already own, or with no installation at all, right in the browser at the bar.
Do my customers need an app?
No. The card lives right in Apple or Google Wallet. Both are already on the phone. No download, no login for your customers.
How does the card get onto the phone?
Via the QR code on the counter stand: scan once, "Add to Wallet," done. The card is on the phone in seconds.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, GDPR by design: data minimisation, servers in the EU and a separate marketing consent. From your guests you need a name and an email, nothing more.
