tapja

tapja for boat rentals

The season is short. Your regulars have to last longer.

Canoes, SUPs and pedal boats run five months a year. A card in the wallet bridges the winter and brings your guests back in spring on their own, with no app for your guests.

Sound familiar?

From frustration to fix.

After the summer the contact breaks off entirely.

The card stays in the wallet, and in spring one message is enough.

Paper cards do not survive a wet pocket.

The balance sits in the phone, not on paper at the jetty.

Bad weather leaves everything sitting there.

A short-notice offer fills the next sunny day.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Design the card

Pick a card type, set your logo and colors, define the reward rule, for example "8 rentals, the 9th hour free.". The live preview shows instantly how the card looks in the wallet.

  2. Onboard customers

The customer scans the QR code at the counter and adds the card to their wallet with one tap. Done, no app for your guests.

  3. Collect & reward

One tap is all it takes: the balance updates automatically on the card, and when a reward is reached a wallet notification lands on the phone.

Example program

What your canoe, SUP & boat rentals program could look like.

8 rentals, the 9th hour free.

A stamp card for the wallet: one stamp per rental, across the season. Plus a greeting when the season opens in spring.

New in tapja

Four things that take work off your hands.

  • Self-stamping at a stand from Favourite Spot

Guests collect the stamp themselves at a QR or NFC stand when nobody at the counter has a second.

  • Guests refer guests All plans

  • Milestone rewards All plans

A day with tapja

How it feels in everyday life.

Two friends rent two SUPs for an hour in June. At the jetty they scan the QR code on the stand and the card lands in the wallet, with no app of their own. Your team stamps in the staff app. The signal by the water is weak, the stamps go through anyway and are sent on later. In September a late-summer offer pulls out two more rentals. The following April you send "We are open again" to every guest from last year; they come in the first week. On the eighth stamp the ninth hour is on the house.

Common questions about tapja for canoe, SUP & boat rentals.

Question not listed?
Write to us, a person will answer.

The signal by the water is poor. Does it still work?
Yes, that is exactly the case the staff app is built for: it accepts stamps and redemptions without a connection and sends them on once you are back online. Only package card units need a connection to be deducted. The counter in the browser, by contrast, needs a connection throughout.
We only open from May to September. Is it worth it?
Especially then. The card stays in the wallet over winter, and when the season opens one message reaches every guest from last year. That is the moment when nobody would otherwise think of you.
A stamp per boat or per hour?
Usually per rental regardless of duration, because that is quickest at handover. If there is a big difference between an hour and a full-day trip, you can also award several stamps at once.
What about tourists who are only here once?
You will not retain those, and it is honest to say so. The value sits with locals and with holiday guests who return every year: for them the card in the wallet is exactly right, because it survives the winter.
Do my guests need an app?
No, your guests need no app. The card lives in Apple or Google Wallet, already installed on every smartphone. It needs a name and an email, nothing more.
Do my customers need an app?
No. The card lives right in Apple or Google Wallet. Both are already on the phone. No download, no login for your customers.
How does the card get onto the phone?
Via the QR code on the counter stand: scan once, "Add to Wallet," done. The card is on the phone in seconds.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, GDPR by design: data minimisation, servers in the EU and a separate marketing consent. From your guests you need a name and an email, nothing more.
