tapja for cinemas

The film is good. The reason to come is missing.

Your competition is the sofa. A card in the wallet gives regulars a reason to return for the next film and fills the weak screenings, with no app for your guests.

Sound familiar?

From frustration to fix.

Guests only come for blockbusters, in between it is empty.

A points balance gives a reason to catch the smaller film too.

Afternoon screenings run almost without an audience.

An offer with its own run time shifts visits into them.

Tickets come through a portal, so you never meet your guests.

Everyone who takes the card appears in your overview by name.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Design the card

Pick a card type, set your logo and colors, define the reward rule, for example "A point per cinema visit, the 10th ticket free.". The live preview shows instantly how the card looks in the wallet.

  2. Onboard customers

The customer scans the QR code at the counter and adds the card to their wallet with one tap. Done, no app for your guests.

  3. Collect & reward

One tap is all it takes: the balance updates automatically on the card, and when a reward is reached a wallet notification lands on the phone.

Example program

What your cinemas program could look like.

A point per cinema visit, the 10th ticket free.

A points card for the wallet that counts visits. Plus an offer for afternoon screenings and a greeting for guests who have been away.

A day with tapja

How it feels in everyday life.

A couple sees the new release on a Friday. Queuing at the popcorn counter she scans the QR code and the card lands in the wallet, with no app of her own. Your team taps the point on entry in the staff app. Two weeks later a small film nobody has heard of is showing, so you send "This week: second ticket half price" to everyone above three points. The two come on a Tuesday, in a screen that would otherwise have stayed near-empty. At the tenth point the free ticket arrives, redeemed right at the box office.

When does a stamp card start to pay off?

Common questions about tapja for cinemas.

Question not listed?
Write to us, a person will answer.

Our tickets run through a portal. Do I have to connect it?
No. tapja runs alongside it. The point is awarded on entry or at the counter, in the staff app or with no installation at all right in the browser. You can start without anyone touching your ticketing system.
Points per visit or per euro spent?
Per visit is usually the honest choice for cinemas and works on every plan. If you want popcorn and drinks to count, awarding by amount also works; that belongs to the larger plan (from Home Base).
Can we fill individual screenings with it?
Yes, with a benefits card: you create a benefit, give it a run time, a quota and a limit per guest. It collects nothing, it carries redeemable benefits. The benefits card belongs to the larger plan.
What about our existing cinema card?
The loyalty card runs alongside it and replaces no contract. Anyone on a subscription can still collect points; you set the reward so that it suits both groups.
Does it work in the rush before a screening?
Yes. Your team taps the point in the staff app and holds the guests phone next to it, which takes under two seconds. No searching, no card, no holding up the queue.
Do my customers need an app?
No. The card lives right in Apple or Google Wallet. Both are already on the phone. No download, no login for your customers.
How does the card get onto the phone?
Via the QR code on the counter stand: scan once, "Add to Wallet," done. The card is on the phone in seconds.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, GDPR by design: data minimisation, servers in the EU and a separate marketing consent. From your guests you need a name and an email, nothing more.
