tapja

tapja for opticians

One pair every three years. You cannot disappear in between.

Buying glasses is rare; accessories, care products and contact lenses are not. A card in the wallet holds the contact between two frames, with no app for your guests.

Sound familiar?

From frustration to fix.

Three years pass between two pairs with no contact.

The card stays in the wallet and you stay reachable.

Customers end up buying contact lenses online.

Points on repeat purchases make the trip to you worthwhile again.

Nobody reminds them about an eye test.

A notice in the wallet brings customers back.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Design the card

Pick a card type, set your logo and colors, define the reward rule, for example "Points on accessories, care and lenses, with a free care set at 100.". The live preview shows instantly how the card looks in the wallet.

  2. Onboard customers

The customer scans the QR code at the counter and adds the card to their wallet with one tap. Done, no app for your guests.

  3. Collect & reward

One tap is all it takes: the balance updates automatically on the card, and when a reward is reached a wallet notification lands on the phone.

A day with tapja

How it feels in everyday life.

A customer buys a new frame and a care set with it. At the till he scans the QR code and the card lands in the wallet, with no app of his own. Six months later he needs cleaning fluid. Normally he would order it online, but he has seen the balance and drops in. After two years you send "Time for an eye test" to everyone whose last visit is that long ago. At 100 points the care set is free, redeemed right at the till.

When does a stamp card start to pay off?

Two pages with the arithmetic: contribution margin per visit, monthly cost, and the number of extra visits at which the card pays for itself. In return for signing up to our emails; one click unsubscribes.

Common questions about tapja for opticians.

Question not listed?
Write to us, a person will answer.

Am I allowed to give bonuses on glasses and vision aids?
The programme is deliberately built around accessories, care products, sunglasses and contact lens refills. Services with a health-insurance element come with their own rules on inducements: worth checking professionally before you go there. tapja does not dictate what you award points on.
Points per euro or per purchase?
For opticians usually per euro, because a case and a years supply of lenses are far apart. Awarding by amount belongs to the larger plan (from Home Base); one point per purchase works on every plan.
Can I remind people about an eye test?
Yes, through the win-back automation: anyone away longer than a period you set gets an automatic notice in the wallet. The automations belong to the larger plan.
What data sits with tapja?
A name and an email, the birthday voluntarily, plus the points balance. tapja collects no health or refraction data; that stays in your professional software, where it belongs.
Do I need a POS integration?
No. Your team awards the points in the staff app, or with no installation at all right in the browser at the till. Nothing changes in your POS or practice software.
Do my customers need an app?
No. The card lives right in Apple or Google Wallet. Both are already on the phone. No download, no login for your customers.
How does the card get onto the phone?
Via the QR code on the counter stand: scan once, "Add to Wallet," done. The card is on the phone in seconds.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, GDPR by design: data minimisation, servers in the EU and a separate marketing consent. From your guests you need a name and an email, nothing more.
