tapja

tapja for toy shops

Online is cheaper. You know what the child wanted last year.

Toys are bought for birthdays and Christmas, predictable, but easily lost to the internet. A card in the wallet keeps families in the shop, with no app for your guests.

Sound familiar?

From frustration to fix.

The same item is two euros cheaper online.

Points and advice are reasons the internet does not supply.

Between Christmas and the next birthday it is quiet.

A birthday voucher brings families back predictably.

You know the families but have them written down nowhere.

The dashboard shows who comes how often.

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Design the card

Pick a card type, set your logo and colors, define the reward rule, for example "A point per euro, a €10 voucher at 200 points.". The live preview shows instantly how the card looks in the wallet.

  2. Onboard customers

The customer scans the QR code at the counter and adds the card to their wallet with one tap. Done, no app for your guests.

  3. Collect & reward

One tap is all it takes: the balance updates automatically on the card, and when a reward is reached a wallet notification lands on the phone.

Example program

What your toy shops program could look like.

A point per euro, a €10 voucher at 200 points.

A points card for the wallet that reflects the purchase. Plus an automatic birthday voucher, the strongest occasion in this trade.

A day with tapja

How it feels in everyday life.

A mother buys a present for a childrens party. At the till she scans the QR code, the card lands in the wallet with no app of her own, and while setting it up she enters her childs birthday (voluntary, but most people are happy to). In March a voucher goes out automatically, shortly before the birthday. She drops in instead of ordering online. At 200 points the card pulls the €10 voucher, redeemed right at the till.

When does a stamp card start to pay off?

Two pages with the arithmetic: contribution margin per visit, monthly cost, and the number of extra visits at which the card pays for itself. In return for signing up to our emails; one click unsubscribes.

Common questions about tapja for toy shops.

Question not listed?
Write to us, a person will answer.

Is it worth it against online retail?
Not on price, but on occasion. A birthday voucher landing on the phone a week beforehand hits exactly the moment when people would otherwise order online, and the trip to you is shorter than the delivery time.
We get a lot of walk-ins before Christmas. Is there anything in it?
Yes, precisely there: in December you hand out many cards, and in January you have a list of families for the first time instead of anonymous receipts. Before the next Christmas you can reach them.
Points per euro: is that on every plan?
No. One point per purchase works everywhere; awarding by amount belongs to the larger plan (from Home Base). For toys the difference pays, because a card game and a dolls house are far apart.
Is the childs birthday mandatory?
No, the birthday is voluntary. A name and an email are required, nothing more. Anyone who prefers not to give a birthday still collects points as normal.
Do my customers need an app?
No, your guests need no app. The card lives in Apple or Google Wallet, already installed on every smartphone. No account, no password, just a one-off email confirmation.
Do my customers need an app?
No. The card lives right in Apple or Google Wallet. Both are already on the phone. No download, no login for your customers.
How does the card get onto the phone?
Via the QR code on the counter stand: scan once, "Add to Wallet," done. The card is on the phone in seconds.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, GDPR by design: data minimisation, servers in the EU and a separate marketing consent. From your guests you need a name and an email, nothing more.
