Campaigns & segments
Audiences (segments), how they are sent, and recurring campaigns.
Segments
A segment is the audience of a campaign: regulars, newcomers, regulars at risk or inactive customers, for example. Every preset describes automatically who is addressed.
Additional filters (AND conditions) narrow a segment further, for instance to customers with a minimum number of points or a certain status level. A preview shows you the estimated reach beforehand.
“Never visited” reaches guests who got a card but have never collected a stamp. You decide how long ago they must have signed up at least. “Inactive” counts everyone who has not been in for the chosen number of days, including guests who signed up and never came.
If you run several cards, you pick the card first. Only guests of that card receive the message; without a choice it applies to all cards.
Ways to send
Now: the campaign goes out immediately. Scheduled: at a set time. Recurring: regularly and automatically, with every run determining the recipients anew.
All campaigns respect quiet hours and caps (see automations), so customers are not over-messaged. During tapja’s fixed night window even “now” is not possible. Simply schedule the campaign for the morning then.
Placeholders
In the message you can use placeholders that are replaced individually per customer when sending: {CustomerName} (the customer’s name), {Business} (the name of your business), {StampsLeft} (stamps or points until the next reward), {RewardName} (the next reward within reach) and {Tier} (the customer’s status level).
If a value is missing for a customer, the placeholder is simply left out, so the finished message never reads “{CustomerName}”. The preview shows you an example with the values filled in.
The German spellings {Kundenname}, {Betrieb}, {RestStempel}, {Prämienname} and {Stufe} work just as well, and the two may even be mixed in one text. Older texts use {Gastname} instead of {Kundenname}; that still works, so saved campaigns need no attention.
Reach: reachable vs. held back
Reachable are the customers who actually receive this message now: they are in the segment and have given marketing consent.
Held back are customers in the segment that the frequency protection (cap and quiet hours) is currently slowing down. They are skipped in this send, so nobody is flooded with messages.
