Cards & programs

The five card types, how points are earned, rewards, starting credit and terms of participation.

Card types

Stamp card: the classic “collect and redeem”, for example 10 stamps, the 11th drink is free.

Points card: customers collect points (per visit or per euro spent) and redeem them for rewards once they pass a threshold.

Benefits card: collects nothing. It carries offers that guests see right on the card and redeem at the counter (see below).

Package card: guests buy several services in advance, for example ten entries, and redeem them one by one. The card counts down units, not money. It is sold at your counter; tapja does not handle any payment.

Membership card: shows members their status, term and fixed benefits. It collects nothing, and tapja does not collect any fees.

Stamp and points cards are included in every plan. Benefits, package and membership cards are included from the Home Base plan.

Points mode

The points mode decides how points are earned: per visit (a fixed value per visit), per euro (points based on the purchase value), from a minimum amount (a fixed value per visit above a minimum purchase) or manually (a staff member enters the points).

“Per visit” is included in every plan: simple, fair and enough for most businesses. The other modes are available from the Home Base plan.

Rewards & thresholds

The reward threshold decides at which stamp or point balance a reward becomes available. The reward quota controls how many rewards are possible per full card or cycle.

As soon as a reward is available, the customer automatically receives a card update with a note. No marketing consent is needed, because it is transactional.

Starting credit (endowed stamps)

With a starting credit every new stamp card begins with a few stamps already on it. That sense of progress (“already 2 out of 10”) measurably increases the chance that customers redeem the card.

Terms of participation on the card

Every issued card carries the version of the terms of participation it was issued under. If you change the terms, they only apply to newly issued cards. Existing customers keep the version they agreed to.

Benefits card and offers

A benefits card doesn’t collect stamps. It carries offers such as “20% off” or “free drink”, each with a period you choose freely. Guests get the card via QR code like any other and see their perks right on it.

For each offer you decide how often a guest may use it, for example once in total or once per day. At the counter, the guest says which offer they want and your team redeems it. It can’t be used more often than allowed, not even at two counters at once.

You create offers in the “Offers” area. It appears in the menu as soon as you have a benefits card. Offers aren’t included in every plan; under Billing you can see which plan unlocks them.
